Our Story
We were each looking for love but had come upon blocks (repeatedly) in our journey toward finding "the one" who we were meant to have and to hold from that day forward. On April 2nd, 2004, we finally met on eHarmony.com, we "clicked" right away, spoke soon afterward, and it's been love and giggles ever since!
We both feel as we were made for one another. Bruce proposed to me on his birthday, November 9th, 2004. We had been talking about marriage and had just returned from looking at rings; and were in his apartment listening to the CD that he made for me of our favorite songs. Unknown to me, he had already chosen a ring and picked it up while we were at the store. He decided that he simply HAD to propose then and there in the privacy of his apartment...he got down on his knee, sweat poured from his forehead and tears from his eyes as he asked me in an incredibly trembling voice to be his bride. It was the most beautiful ring that I have ever seen! So 'sparkly'!!! I said yes and started to cry, too.
Eleven months of planning began quickly as we grew more in our love, honor, and trust for one another. This culminated in our evening outdoor wedding service on October 8th, 2005 in a gazebo by a lake, and attended by 88 close family and friends. Our colors of cranberry purple and royal blue were enhanced by the beautiful autumn richness all around :)
Six months after our wedding, we were busy trying to work enough to pay bills, but we were still loving every minute that we got together. Married life is great; it's wonderful to have someone waiting for you at home to put a smile upon your face no matter how difficult the workday was and to care for the other when they are ill. By six months, we had made our goal to someday soon become parents.
